Matt Newmyer is a Marriage Family Therapy Registered Intern (#68245) under the supervision of G. Wayne Brazil (License Number MFC 34554) from the offices of Pacific Coast Psychological Associates in Fullerton, CA.  He is also an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

He completed his Master's Degree in Marriage Family Therapy from Hope International University and is qualified to diagnose and treat a variety of mental health issues listed here.  Matt is a Prepare/Enrich certified couple's therapist and has completed Level I Gottman Training.  He has worked in various full and part-time Christian pastoral capacities for the past 10 years and is able to integrate spirituality into counseling for those who so desire.

Matt uses a variety of theroretical approaches to effectively tailor treatment to the specific needs of each client.  Everyone has a different story and a unique journey and so the process of therapy is as unique as each person.  Matt emphasizes the importance of a warm, empathetic environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings and helps them identify and change the thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors that are keeping them from living the life they desire.  He works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families with a primary focus in depression, anxiety, addiction and family issues.
